In 1880 the state of Mississippi was divided for enumeration purposes by the Census Bureau into three Supervisory Districts. SD 1 consisted of counties in northeastern Mississippi, SD 2 of counties in southeastern Mississippi, and SD 3 of western counties. Location of original 1880 schedules: DAR Library, Washington DC, 23 volumes.
