Newport Township Transcribers Remarks:
==========================================
The 1803 Ohio State census for Newport Township, Washington County, was 
conducted by Luther Dana.  It is a narrow, one page list of 42 first and last 
names.  The heading states, "A List of the white male inhabitants in the 
township of Newport that are above the age of twentyone years. Taken this 30th 
day of August 1803". It is signed at the bottom, "Luther Dana (Lister)." Mr. 
Dana's writing was very legible.
